Patient Information
Our entire staff is made up of licensed oral health care professionals who are clinicians, oral health educators and health promoters. Dr. Penny and her staff are all deeply committed to the total health and well being of your child and the ideals of preventative dentistry.
We work as a team to serve you and your child to the fullest extent possible. So many patients and parents have told us, “We have a great time at the dentist office and look forward to our visit with Dr. Penny and her staff.” The video games, movies, colors, ambiance and park-like atmosphere, all contribute to your child’s feeling as relaxed and comfortable as possible.Early Dental Visits
Parents usually accompany infants and children into our treatment rooms. Early examinations focus on the child’s risk of developing oral and dental disease. Based on this assessment, Dr. Penny will determine the appropriate recall interval for the next dental visit. Dental decay in children can progress quite rapidly. Dr. Penny will also evaluate your child’s dental development – how many teeth at what age? Fluoride supplementation, thumb sucking, pacifier, injury prevention, brushing and diet will all be discussed.Children's Dental Care
Preventive dentistry means a healthy smile for your child. Children with healthy mouths chew more easily and gain more nutrients from the foods they eat. They learn to speak better and more clearly. They have a greater chance of general health, because disease in the mouth can endanger the rest of the body. A healthy mouth is more attractive, giving children confidence in their appearance. Finally, preventive dentistry means less extensive, and less expensive, treatment for your child.
Teenage Dental Care
By their teenage years, young adults should be experts at taking care of their mouths properly. Brushing, flossing, and general care should be second nature. Sealants may be an appropriate treatment on permanent teeth. Selecting the right mouth guard to prevent sports injuries is another key function that we provide. And of course, diagnosing and caring for orthodontic problems at their earliest stages can save a smile and a budget.Patient Forms
